At the start of Covid - March 2020 - we started a research with expectant and new moms about their hospital experience to help a client of ours design their birthing centre. 'The birth of a birthing centre' was an unforgettable piece of work - to hear all those miraculous birth stories which helped up stay positive and trust in the life-force at a most difficult time in the recent past. What is even more gratifying is how inputs from that research led to the creation of a 'one-of-a-kind' ethical, sensitive and evidence based birthing centre in Bangalore.
The founder Janhavi Nilekani calls "Aastrika Midwifery Centre is a research publication in physical form." As a research it gladens my heart beyond words can describe.
